After breakfast, you’ll head south as the dry savanna gives way to lush rainforest. In about an hour, you’ll reach Montagne d’Ambre National Park, known for its high concentration of endemic species. The park features crater lakes, waterfalls, and scenic trails branching out from a central picnic area. You’ll enjoy a guided nature walk and, optionally, a nighttime excursion to spot nocturnal wildlife.

A 3-hour drive brings you to the dramatic limestone formations of Ankarana. The Tsingy plateaus—sharp, jagged pinnacles—are among Madagascar’s most unique geological wonders. You’ll explore caves and underground rivers inhabited by blind cave fish, eels, shrimps, and Nile crocodiles. Bat colonies fill the caverns, while the surrounding forest hosts crowned lemurs, mongooses, and a variety of reptiles and birds. At night, you may encounter tenrecs, civets, Fosa, and mouse lemurs. These two days offer a deep dive into Madagascar’s wild heart.

After two days of hiking, enjoy a relaxed drive to Ankify. Along the way, you’ll visit spice plantations and learn about Madagascar’s famous exports—cacao, vanilla, pepper, and cloves. In Ankify, you’ll unwind in the coastal town before boarding a boat to Nosy Be, your next destination.
